EMIRATES FLIGHT WITH DOZENS OF SICK PASSENGERS LANDS AT JFK

An Emirates flight from Dubai was quarantined Wednesday morning at JFK Airport, where it landed with about 100 of its 521 passengers feeling sick, according to reports.

Flight 203, an Airbus A380, landed at 9:18 a.m. after a roughly 14-hour flight and was directed to a staging area where Port Authority police and members of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention converged.

The pilot reported that two male passengers had very high fevers and that dozens were “coughing nonstop,” according to ABC News.

The two-level aircraft has been quarantined, according to the mayor’s office.

Passenger Larry Coben tweeted images of emergency vehicles surrounding the giant aircraft.

“They have told us people are sick but have seen no evidence,” Coben, an archaeologist and founder of the Sustainable Preservation Initiative, posted on Twitter.

“All we have been told is that some passengers have fallen ill and we should remain in our seats,” he added.

One image he posted shows flight attendants walking toward a line of ambulances.

Emirates did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
