David Evans welcomes you ......
Whether you've been a member since I formed TINYg in 2006, or are interested in finding out more about the group for the first time, welcome to the TINYg website.
Back in 2006, whilst discussing the emerging threat posed by radical Islamic terrorists, I realised that there was a real need to enable improved communications between law enforcement and business. With a background of thirty years service in the Metropolitan Police in London and commercial experience gained from running my own business, I was acutely aware that information sharing and a more collaborative approach would assist in the fight against terrorism in all of its forms. Most importantly, I was determined that this collaboration had to benefit not just large, multi-national corporations, but the man and woman in street, the shop worker, the school teacher, the nurse and the start-up entrepreneur who otherwise couldn't afford or wouldn't have access to such assistance.
With that in mind and with the assistance of a number of professional colleagues in New York City and London who offered to facilitate meetings and provide presentations, the first TINYg conference was held at the offices of Reuters in Times Square, Manhattan. From that day onwards, we have never looked back. We have held conferences and meetings globally, have members in over 150 countries and have issued more than half a million email alerts, all of which has been completely free of charge.
None of this would have been possible without the huge generosity of our supporters, sponsors and partners, who similarly recognise the role that TINYg has played and continues to play in supporting the fight against terrorism in all of its forms.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to visit us, I hope that you find the information that you need, but if you require any further information, don't hesitate to contact our team at enquiries@tinyg.info

Neil Basu QPM, Assistant Commissioner, Metropolitan Police Service
I am honoured to be chosen to be the Patron of TINYg. For the last 6 years I worked at the heart of the UK’s Counter Terrorism Network and was the National Police Chief’s Council lead for CT Policing as Assistant Commissioner Specialist Operations 2018-2021. Through the unprecedented pace and volume of threat caused by the rise of ISIS and the global spread of its pernicious ideology, MI5 and CT Policing responded to 12 terrorist attacks and disrupted 29 others. Islamist terrorism also inspired the rise of the extreme right wing as both sides sought to divide society. We also solved the investigation into the first use of a chemical weapon on the streets of Western Europe since the Second World War when we dealt with Russia’s hostile state action in Salisbury.
In 2017 we conducted the deepest examination of the national CT security machine for decades to learn the lessons that would better keep the UK safe. We learned how to better collect, store, and analyse huge volumes of data, but importantly we learned that reducing threat meant learning to share that information and intelligence more widely. Only a strong partnership with agencies outside national security; and a strong relationship with the general public and the private sector, can defeat terrorism. That strengthening relationship with the private sector is what inspired me to step up as the Patron of TINYg.
