Whether you’ve been with us since we started in 2006 or you’re just now discovering us, we’re glad you’re here.
It all began back in 2006 when, during a discussion about the growing threat of radical Islamic terrorism, I saw a crucial need for better communication between law enforcement and businesses. With my 30 years of experience in the Metropolitan Police in London and my own business background, I knew that sharing information and fostering collaboration could significantly enhance our fight against all forms of terrorism. Most importantly, I wanted this collaboration to benefit everyone – not just large corporations, but also everyday people: the shop workers, schoolteachers, nurses and startup entrepreneurs who might otherwise lack access to such crucial resources.
Driven by this vision and with help from professional colleagues in New York and London, we held our first TiNYg conference at Reuters’ offices in Times Square, Manhattan. Since then, we haven’t looked back. We’ve hosted over 100 conferences and meetings worldwide, gained members in over 150 countries and sent out more than a million email alerts – all completely free of charge.
None of this would be possible without the incredible generosity of our supporters, sponsors and partners. They understand the vital role TiNYg plays in the global fight against terrorism and continue to support our mission.
Thank you for visiting us today.

Founder and International Group Chair
I am honoured to be chosen to be the Patron of TiNYg. For the last 6 years I worked at the heart of the UK’s Counter Terrorism Network and was the National Police Chief’s Council lead for CT Policing as Assistant Commissioner Specialist Operations 2018-2021. Through the unprecedented pace and volume of threat caused by the rise of ISIS and the global spread of its pernicious ideology, MI5 and CT Policing responded to 12 terrorist attacks and disrupted 29 others. Islamist terrorism also inspired the rise of the extreme right wing as both sides sought to divide society. We also solved the investigation into the first use of a chemical weapon on the streets of Western Europe since the Second World War when we dealt with Russia’s hostile state action in Salisbury.
In 2017 we conducted the deepest examination of the national CT security machine for decades to learn the lessons that would better keep the UK safe. We learned how to better collect, store, and analyse huge volumes of data, but importantly we learned that reducing threat meant learning to share that information and intelligence more widely. Only a strong partnership with agencies outside national security; and a strong relationship with the general public and the private sector, can defeat terrorism. That strengthening relationship with the private sector is what inspired me to step up as the Patron of TiNYg.
The TiNYg team is a dynamic, innovative, and determined group of global industry experts from law enforcement, academia, and government. Our team consists of over 40+ individuals, all dedicated to providing rich advice and guidance to our members.
We proudly remain ‘free of charge’ for everyone and are far more than just a ‘not for profit’ organisation. Our core belief is in offering our essential services for free and every bit of income we receive is reinvested into enhancing and expanding what we offer.
Our Single Unifying Purpose is to maintain an up-to-date understanding of global terrorism. We bring together subject matter experts in a trusted environment to increase our members’ awareness of threats and help them develop their ability to prepare and respond effectively.
Since its formation and inaugural meeting in 2006, TiNYg has grown into the world’s largest, free-to-use Counter Terrorism Information Network. Starting with just 50 delegates at our first meeting in Times Square, we’ve expanded our services to include training, counter-terrorism consultancy, conferences, webinars, social events, email alerts and bespoke briefings.
