Leeds Man Charged with Eleven Terrorism Offences
A 33-year-old American man from Leeds has been charged with eleven terrorism offences following an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing North East.
Jason Symons is charged with:
- Nine counts of collect a record of information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000
- Two counts of dissemination of terrorist publications, contrary to Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006
The man was arrested on January 29, 2025, as part of an intelligence led operation by Counter Terrorism Policing North East.
He appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court today (March 17), and will next appear at the Central Criminal Court on Friday, March 27.
